Reason for the award

The Silent Horizon follows the struggles of the United Rhysalion (Norian) Imperium as it fights war on multiple fronts and universes against the incursion of the Void, the invasion of the dangerous Craethel, and the newly revealed energy hungry, Vae’Lyr. It is a mixture of play by post and Joint post simulation that covers both tight interpersonal / political conflict, ground battles and starship battles. It is a tightly woven plot line that reflects player actions across multiple threads of roleplay, encouraging players to engage with the different plot facets to fully understand the full picture of the story. It is both space opera, political intrigue, intergalactic drama, combat, and personal drama.

It is unique on a site that tends to focus on starship or ship crew combat heavy sims, offering a wider view of the universe and the impacts that war with all its successes and losses ripples through a nation and its leadership. The quality of the story its writing is a testament to the passion the players have for the site and to the setting, making it feel lived in. Even background characters feel incredibly complex and like they’ve been in the setting for years. This game is currently ongoing and offering multiple perspectives into the nation and setting.
