Reason for the award

Commander t’Aegis has been with the Firebird for seven years. She has developed into one of the most interesting characters on the ship. She has been a distinct, authentic character since her first day aboard. As a Romulan refugee, she came to us after her stint at the Academy, learning the differences between the Romulan Navy and Starfleet. It hasn’t always been a seamless transition. She was not one to easily trust outsiders, which was the entire crew. But she was dedicated to doing her duty and over time her relationships have blossomed. She is a fierce fighter, an excellent tactician and the kind of leader that people respect, and sometimes are afraid of. She has become one of the Captain’s most trusted officers and he turns to her for advice frequently and has risen to the role of second officer. Importantly, Commander t’Aegis has never lost the Romulan traits that make her who she is. Her perspective is unique, interesting and provides a great background to many of the stories we tell. She also has adopted a Romulan child, Xavi, and doing so, become a mother. That was a big change and one that has been folded into the stories in a deft way. Her continued growth, unique storytelling aspects and her loyalty to the ship, will all continue in the future, making the stories told even better. She has been an outstanding presence in all of our missions, and often the driving force behind many of the most well done posts.
