Reason for the award

“Shane plays Colonel Corneilus Tremble, the current XO of the Pioneer. He started out as the Marine Corps and has built the Marine department from scratch. It’s a large, thriving department and when they aren’t involved with a mission, he always has something for them to do.

When the former XO left the sim, Shane was asked to step up and remain a Marine. In character it’s an experiment to blend Starfleet and the Marines to help the two branches work together while still retaining their autonomy. Marines help as Marines with mission and work with both Security and command. It works very well on the Pioneer.

Out of character, Shane helps with all missions, leading some or splitting responsibilities. He is also aware of the players on the sim and will go out of his way to write with them or message them if it looks like they need some help. He has a number of NPCs he will bring in to help as well, whether with the mission or to write with others.
He listens to people and helps them develop their characters or a side story. The CO is also involved in making the sim a welcoming place, but I don’t always see an XO who takes a personal interest in everyone while still working within the framework the CO has established.

Working with other players, he has helped develop several secondary storylines to help with character development and to get players involved.
